With pandemic on the rise and people being forced to stay home as much as possible, there has been a surge in interest among poker players. Few people saw this as a great opportunity to collect a good amount and contribute it for a better cause.

The idea turned to reality when Lionel David Chandran, a partner in influencer management agency in Bengaluru along with his close pals Ashley D’Souza and Supreeth Srinivas wanted to do something positive for stray animals.

With the pandemic spread and lockdown being imposed, the situation is getting tougher every day. It is even worse for stray animals who are left without any food and shelter. That is why an online poker game series named ‘All-In Poker For A Cause’ was hosted by Poker High, an online poker playing site run by Arjun Rampal, a Bollywood actor. The fundraising initiative took place in Chennai and Bengaluru.

The series received a positive response and managed to gather over Rs.200000. The series ran for 2 weeks and reached its destination on Sunday.

Team Bengaluru was led by Aviva Bidapa and Megha Kapoor, city-based fashion designers with a good eye on Poker. Avika and Megha managed to gather 45 people for the cause. Megha was happy with so many people interested in the niche game that requires skill and luck to win. She believes she is not quite well versed with poker and needs a lot of practice to improve before the next phase begins. Aviva appreciates Arjun Rampal offering his poker platform for the cause.

Arjun Rampal believes that due credit needs to be given to the frontliners for bravely fighting against Covid-19. He believes when like minds come together with a positive intention at heart, then good things do come out of it.

The fundraiser turned out to be a huge success with Rs.211228 being collected. Of whichRs.70000 was given to the winning team,i.e., team Bengaluru and all the remaining proceeds would be donated to CUPA, an animal shelter organization.
