Sunday Updates: Sanghi, Bhatia, Sapra, Rajpal, Agrawal, & others Banked Lions’s Shares

Weekends are the busiest in the poker world. But the action that unfolded Sunday night was too good to be missed. With Spartan Poker’s IOPC, the Adda52 Poker Fest (APF), PokerBaazi’s IMPS, and the 2020 WSOP Online Series, everyone was glued to their screens and our poker pros successfully leaving their marks on the poker scoreboards.

Here is the full scoop:

Spartan Poker

Finally, it was the end of an era at Spartan Poker after IOPC reached its destination yesterday. The highlight of the series, the 3 Crores GTD IOPC Main Event: The Crown finally crowned its champion Harshit Sanghi. Registering 4081 entries across 8 flights, the event sailed past its break-even mark and reached Rs.4.08 crores in the prize pool. Harshit(won the title and took home Rs. 47.33 lakhs) championed the event by striking a three-way deal with Kunal Bhatia(came second and took home Rs.42.36 lakhs) and Sumit Sapra (came 3rd and took home Rs.32.30 lakhs).

With IOPC Main Event hogging most of the attention, the 60 lakhs GTD IOPC Sunday Superstack suffered Rs.80000 in overlay despite roping in 1184 poker enthusiasts. ‘Rolling1’ championed the event by defeating ‘GoldSpot’ in an intense heads-up and took home Rs.11.30 lakhs.

Sathish Ananth championed the IOPC Big Daddy ₹15 Lakhs GTD for ₹2.18 Lakhs, after a three-way deal with Sujith Kumar (runner-up for ₹1.99 Lakhs) and ‘ConMan’ (3rd for ₹1.86 Lakhs).

The other winners were ‘cantwinflips’ (IOPC#115 ₹6 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.29 Lakhs), ‘American Airlines’ (IOPC#119 ₹6.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.08 Lakhs) and Sethuram Kannan (IOPC #116 Monster Stack ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹83,315).

The second APF Full House 1 crore GTD was on the schedule last night which successfully garnered 1761 entries across 6 starting flights and yet still fell victim to a massive overlay of Rs.11.95 lakhs. ‘DPT.54’ championed the event by defeating Vinay Rajpal for Rs.21 lakhs. Vinay had to settle for Rs.13.20 lakhs listed to his credit.

The next tourney on the schedule was the 20 lakhs GTD APF Millions which required Rs.11000 buy-ins. Roping in 254 entries the guarantee was crushed up to Rs.25.40 lakhs. Arjunn Agrawal flipped the flagship in his favour leaving behind ‘BobbyAxelrod’ where the former took home Rs.5.37 lakhs and the latter added Rs.5.16 lakhs to his bankroll.

PokerBaazi

The 25 lakhs GTD BSS SuperStack suffered an overlay with Rs.75000 short of the advertised guarantee. Abhishek topped the field by defeating his competition and taking home Rs.5.02 lakhs. Ashutosh Balodhi came in close second and added Rs.3.52 lakhs to his bankroll.

PokerStars India

Breaking the chain of overlays with 18 lakhs GTD Sunday Special Progressive KO, the flagship roped in 367 entries and comfortably walked past its advertised guarantee to reach an Rs.18.35 lakhs mark. After 10 hours of grinding, Raj Shreshtha Juneja took down the title and added Rs.2.83 lakhs to his credit after striking a heads-up deal with ‘Infic1’ who took home Rs.2.07 lakhs.

But with the 15 lakhs GTD Sunday Highroller, the trend of overlay continued. Despite successfully roping in 129 entries, the site had to fill in an overlay of Rs.2.1 lakhs. Sreekant Narayan topped the field and took along Rs. 3.28 lakhs. Following him was ‘sunny9456’ who came in close second and added Rs.2.43 lakh to his current bankroll.

WSOP

While everyone had their eyes set on different poker tournaments, India’s first solo WSOP gold bracelet winner Abhinay Iyer was aiming for his second bracelet in Event #33. He came pretty close but unfortunately fell short and got eliminated at the fourth place taking home a whopping $127571.28.
