Raghav Bansal: One Of The Best Poker Players In India

Proudly sitting 4th on India All-Time Money List, Raghav Bansal is one of the best poker players India has ever witnessed. He also has a whopping amount of $1094910 listed to his total live earnings.

Poker Journey So Far

Raghav initially played poker in college. But in 2014, he took time to pursue poker as a profession. Trying a hand at different tournaments and consistently winning was the biggest motivation to become a full-time poker player.

In 2015 at WSOP, Raghav became the first Indian poker player to share the finals table making India proud. In 2017, he came close 2nd at Pokerstars Championship High Roller Event and became the first Indian to bank the most significant amount of $337k in the past decade. He also managed to flip the title in his favour at Macau Poker Cup as well as No Limit Hold’Em Main Event and proudly took home Rs.3060000 at the Deltin Poker Tournament.

He also states that travelling was the most significant point of attraction to pursue poker. He enjoys travelling across the globe, meeting new people, and indulging in new activities. He also loves playing poker online.

Raghav Bansal The Whistle Blower Against Adda52 Unfair TDS Policy

Last year when Adda52 continued with its outdated TDS policy taking undue advantage of players, Raghav Bansal in his closed Facebook group ‘The Players Group’ raised his voice against this unfair treatment. Together with other members of the group, they boycotted Adda52.

As a result, Kunal Patni, the ambassador or Adda52, assured the Facebook group members that the higher-ups have taken into account that the poker players are disappointed and have organized an impromptu meeting with tax attorneys to seek a resolution as soon as possible.

His Advice To New Poker Players

  • If you are going to play like an amateur, then you will always be an amateur.
  • Take advantage of all the offers you can get your hands on.
  • Don’t get in too deep too quickly. Be smart, start small.
  • Cash games are best, to begin with. They are easier to get into and earn good money.
  • Weekends are a great time to be online playing poker.
