By Dheeraj Singh

Spartan Poker’s 18-day long series – IOPC that gave away a whopping 25 Crore in the guaranteed prize pool concluded last Sunday. One of the highlights of the series was the ME boasting INR 3 Crore GTD. The 3 Crore GTD ME saw an impressive response from poker players across the country with 4075 entries.

Today, we have the IOPC July Edition Main Event winner Harshit  Sanghi aka “HeroCaller” with us in our chat session. Harshit outlasted Kunal Bhatia and crushed the FT for 47.33 Lac and also clinched the 18K Gold IOPC Crown. Unlike most of us, Harshit prefers to give the point answers.

Here are the excerpts-

First of all, can you please tell us a little about yourself, your educational background and all?

I am from Kanpur. I have a degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from DBS Dehradun.

Tell us about your poker journey. How it all started?

It all started two-three years back. Sharad Rao who also belongs to Kanpur introduced me to the game.

Are you a full-time poker player or just pursuing it side by side as a hobby or passion?

I am an entrepreneur. I am not a full-time poker player yet and currently, I am taking it up as a hobby.

Tell us about your experience of the IOPC July edition. You ended up winning the IOPC ME. How it all happened?

Thank you. The experience was very good. A massive field of players from all over India was playing. It was really good.

Did you imply any specific strategy or routine for this tournament?

Nothing specific! I am just trying to change my game from time to time so that I don’t become monotonous and easy to read.

Which are the Indian poker platforms you enjoy playing at?

I enjoy playing mostly at Spartan Poker and 9Stacks.

At last, tell us about your future plan. Are you eyeing on any upcoming tourney?

Yes, of course. I would like to give as much time to poker as I can. AOPS on Adda52 seems interesting. Let’s see how it goes.

Stay tuned to check out the next Poker Star!
