Sunday Updates: Walia, Doddapaneni, Singhvi, Narayan, Chutani, Mehta and Sharma Topped The Field

Sunday was a chartbuster in the poker world. With high reward tourneys and Indian poker pros taking down most of them, a lot went down last night.

Here’s the full scoop of the drama that unfolded:

Spartan Poker

With IOPC on its peak at Spartan Poker, the highlight tourney that registered 818 entries was 1.5 crore GTD IOPC Millionaire Legends. Keeping up with the crushing guarantees trend, this tourney too comfortably sailed passed its advertised guarantee all the way up to Rs.2.04 crores in the prize pool. After the end of the first day, only 128 poker enthusiasts were able to score their seats to Day 2. Finishing first was Sriharsha Doddapaneni, who at the final moment flipped the tourney for banking a whopping Rs.38.75 lakhs.

Another tourney that roped in 1214 entries was the 60 lakhs GTD IOP Sunday Superstack. Running past the field of competition, Mahima Walia took over the title and Rs.11.43 lakhs to her credit. ‘Kuera33’ came close second and took home Rs.6.95 lakhs.

Adda52

Since the brisk start of the Adda52 Poker Fest(APF) from July 17, there have been back to back high reward tournaments hosted at the site. Last night the tourney that garnered 1933 entries withRs.5500 buy-ins was the ₹1 Crore GTD APF Full House Finale. Despite such a positive response from the poker community, the tourney fell short of Rs.3.35 lakhs in the advertised guarantee. The final moment had Siddharth Singhvi and Sahil Chutni competing to claim the title which eventually fell into Singhvi’s lap. Along with the title to his credit, Singhvi took home Rs.21 lakhs whereas Chutani had to be satisfied with Rs.13.20 lakhs to his credit.

PokerBaazi

With Sunday the tradition of overlays hit the PokerBaazi platform. The 25 lakhs BSS Superstack fell short of Rs.1.35 lakhs in the advertised guarantee despite registering 473 entries. After grinding for 8 long hours, Sreekanth Narayan finally claimed his throne on the title and banking Rs.5.03 lakhs to his credit. Rajesh Kumar Shukla came in close second and took home Rs.3.52 lakhs.

PokerStars India

Keeping up with the overlay trail, last night’s 18 lakhs GTD Progressive Ko suffered Rs.1.8 lakhs overlay. The tourney roped in 324 participants of which Anmol Mehta championed the event by defeating Sahil Mahboobani where the former took home Rs. 3.41 lakhs and the latter had to be satisfied with Rs.1.50 lakhs to his credit.

Another tourney that registered 121 entries and still suffered a massive overlay of Rs.2.9 lakhs was 15 lakhs GTD Sunday Highroller. Championing the event Rajat Sharma took down the title and banked Rs.3.14 lakhs to his credit whereas Sagar Choudhury was satisfied with Rs.2.56 lakhs.

Pocket52

Since 1 July 2020, Pocket52 welcomed its biggest series to date,i.e., the Grand Poker Sprint (GPS). Last night the tourney on the schedule was Pocket Aces with 10 lakhs GTD. With Rs.2750 buy-ins, the tourney roped in 315 entries, still suffering a massive overlay of Rs.2.12 lakhs for the site to fill in. ‘laazzy’ emerged as the champion leaving behind ‘shashwat07438’ where the former added Rs.2.05 lakhs to his bankroll and latter had been satisfied with Rs.1.27 lakhs.
