By Dheeraj Singh

Amit Jain is a recognized name in Indian Poker circuit. A resident of Mumbai, Amit rose to fame in 2017 when he delivered his career’s best score $38,840 by winning the 75K High Roller at DPT September in Goa. Initially, a businessman, Amit plays poker as a hobby and has a passion for acting. He is an alumnus of the prominent acting institute Whistling Woods International and might make his appearance on the silver screen soon.

Amit is playing poker for almost ten years now and has won several big wins and cashes across domestic and international poker events. WSOP, WPT, APT, APPT, MPC and DPT Goa are some of the most prominent poker events Amit has competed in.

Start of the Poker journey

Amit credits Adda52 for the start of his professional poker career. Amit once said, “I was a businessman who was fascinated by the game and lost regularly. I never really made my bankroll from poker.”

Amit got the Adda52 sponsorship deal in 2014 and since then started playing poker professionally. It helped him play various cash games and tourneys and improve his skills.

How Amit Jain prepares for a tournament?

As such, there are no set preparations before tourneys. However, one thing that Amit is very concerned about is eating. He ensures to eat very light during tourney breaks. Like any other poker pro, Amit too believes in keeping your focus 100% on the table. Amit says, “You cannot afford to be lazy or too full during a tourney.”

When not playing poker, Amit spends his time with family and playing cricket with his son.

The decision to part ways with Adda52

December 25, 2018, Amit Jain announced his decision to part ways with Adda52. In his social media post, Amit wrote, “After five healthy and amazing years of working together adda52 and I have mutually decided to part ways.”

Amit Jain was Adda52’s longest-running pro after Aditya Sushant and Muskan Sethi left the brand in 2016. Later on, he revealed, it was his personal decision to quit the position. He thought he wasn’t doing justice to his duty of being a brand ambassador.
