Wednesday Updates: Chawla, Mehta, Kothari, Soman, Patel, Arora and Rajpal Score High On Poker Leader boards

It was a fruitful Wednesday in the digital doors of poker. A lot of action went down with back to back series and our poker pros at their best foot forward, here is a quick recap of all the drama that unfolded:

Spartan Poker

Spartan Poker is recently experiencing an enormous response with its latest 3 crores GTD IOPC Main Event: The Crown currently underway. With Rs.11000 buy-ins, the tourney is on its peak right now and had 3 flights already played successfully. Last night with Day 1C, 459 entries were registered including 902 entries making the total headcount to 1361 entries.

After 5 hours of grinding, the final scene had 51 players of which Madan Kumar had the biggest chip stacks stacked in front of him comprising 252039 chips. Sandeep Varma and ‘Glober’ emerged with huge chip stacks too where the former had 219681 chips and the later had 215030 chips stacked to their credits.

Greeting the virtual felts last night was another tourney the 50 Lakhs GTD IOPC #92 Destiny. Roping in 1145 entries, Rs.5500 buy-ins, the flagship comfortably walked past its advertised guarantee to reach the Rs.57.25 lakh mark. Leaving everyone behind Pranay Chawla grabbed the winner’s spot and took home his personal best Rs.14.31 lakhs whereas ‘poxy’ became the runner-up and took along Rs.8.95 lakhs.

Another tourney at Spartan Poker that roped in 832 entries was the 10 Lakhs GTD IOPC #93, which finally reached Rs.12.48 lakhs in the guaranteed prize pool. Mohit Mehta championed the event by defeating ‘festner’ where Mohit added Rs.2.39 lakhs to his bankroll and the latter had to be satisfied with Rs.1.50 lakhs.

PokerBaazi

PokerBaazi hosted its 10 Lakhs GTD The Pride flagship last night which garnered 322 entries but still suffered an overlay of Rs.34000. Priyank Kothari banked the title along with Rs.2.21 lakhs after defeating ‘Amarjeet’(came second and took home Rs.1.55 lakhs) in a heads-up chop.

Adda52

It was Day 6 of APF at Adda52 and the highlight tourney on the schedule was the 15 lakhs GTD APF Maverick. With Rs.2500 buy-ins and 709 entries, the guarantee was crushed all the way up to Rs. 16.13 lakhs. Rohan Soman(won and took home Rs.2.86 lakhs) captivated his title by striking a three-way deal with Chiraag Patel(became a runner-up and added Rs.2.68 lakhs to his bankroll) and Chandan Arora(came third and took home Rs.2.41 lakhs).

PokerStars

Continuing its tradition of overlays, PokerStars India last night experienced a shortfall of Rs.72500 at its 8 lakhs GTD Night on Stars, despite roping in 291 entries. Vinay Rajpal(won Rs.1.12 lakhs) took down the title after striking a four-way deal with ‘yash1805’(came 2nd and took home Rs.1.09 lakhs), Rocky Gehlot(came 3rd and took home Rs. 1.02 lakhs) and Ashwin Vijay(came 4th and took home Rs.81267).
