Wednesday Updates: Singh, Rohila, Ojha, Dewan, Pande, Pandey & Chhajer Ruled The Virtual Felts

By Nimisha Popat

With fewer tourneys on the list and Adda52’s technical distress, it was a relatively slow Wednesday in the domestic poker world. Here is a glance at what went down in the virtual felts last night and who took the most significant piece of the victory cake:

Spartan Poker

Last night Spartan Poker hosted its regular tourney, the 30 Lakhs GTD Destiny. Accruing 754entries with Rs.5500 buy-ins, the final prize-pool comprised Rs.37.70 lakhs. Leaving behind his fierce competition, Manoj Singh championed the event and took along Rs.9.80 lakhs. Saurabh Rohila came in a close second and took home Rs.6.03 lakhs.

The next flagship on the list was the 4 Lakhs GTD Mega Freeze which registered 153 entries making the prize- pool of Rs.4.59 lakhs. ‘shar88’ ran past its competition to win the race, claim the title and add Rs.1.10 lakhs to his current bankroll. Vishal Ojha became a runner-up, banking Rs.74817.

PokerBaazi

With its 10 Lakhs GTD The Pride, the site suffered an overlay of Rs.16000 despite registering 328 entries. Himanshu Dewan flipped the tourney in his favour leaving behind Sanchit Pande where the former added Rs.2.21 lakhs to his bankroll and the latter had to be satisfied with Rs.1.55 lakhs listed to his credit.

PokerStars India

With its 8 Lakhs GTD Night on Stars, the tradition of overlay continued at PokerStars India. Despite pulling in 290 entries, the tourney suffered a shortfall of Rs.75000. Nishant Pandey emerged as the champion after striking a three-way deal with Vikram Singh(came in second and took home Rs.1.22 lakhs) and ‘Bluff0388’(stood at the 3rd spot and took along Rs.89516)and added Rs.1.33 lakhs to his current bankroll.

However, with its next tourney, the 5 Lakhs GTD Big Bubble Rush, the long and steady tradition of overlay finally experienced a breach. With 225 poker enthusiasts on board, the final guaranteed prize pool comprised Rs.5.63 lakhs. ‘cardshark6191’ took down the title after entering a heads-up deal with Abhishek Chhajer where the former made a payday check of Rs.1.36 lakhs and the latter added Rs.49998 to his current bankroll.

Adda52

Like Monday evening, Adda52 fell prey to technical difficulties last night as well which led to cancellations of all the tourneys on schedule. The site shared the news via its Facebook Page.
